AIUB BUSINESS CLUB (ABC)
Objective:
ABC was established in 2009 as a learning organization with the aim of providing students with the opportunity to learn about business, develop their entrepreneurial skills, and network with other students and professionals. The club works to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the business world, enabling them to develop their entrepreneurial spirit and leadership capabilities, building a network of business professionals and organizations to connect with, learn from, and collaborate.
Activities:
The club arranges numerous seminars, workshops, and competitions that explore new business ideas, case studies, presentation skills, leadership practices, career opportunities, etc. Their work enables students to undertake real-life simulations in managing people, market brands, handle finances, optimize logistics, and design initiatives.
Membership:
ABC is considered as a departmental club for the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), but students from other Faculties are also encouraged to apply for the membership in order to enhance their business sense and capacities. Recruitments are conducted during the semesters, through which applicants are evaluated, interviewed, and selected to join the club. Currently, there are 77 proactive members working in ABC.
Leadership:
ABC operates under the supervision of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), following the general structure for the Executive Committee (EC), with the designations adapted to reflect business corporations more aptly. OSA provides overall guidance and constant support to the EC for implementing the various events of the club, with cooperation from FBA.
Future Outlook:
ABC intends to broaden its horizon in the business landscape, with more flagship events that augment the students’ understanding and experience of real-life business scenarios, in hope of creating opportunities for further corporate collaborations that can enhance their expertise through productive sessions and challenging tournaments.
